The use of dental crowns for vital and endodontically treated teeth : a review of the clinical and cost-effectiveness and guidelines /
Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health, 2013
"In the perspective of publicly funded health insurance plans, it is important to base the coverage of dental crowns for vital and non-vital teeth on the best available evidence. It is of particular interest for these plans to define evidence-based criteria for the coverage of crowns for vital teeth, and for the coverage of using posts/cores and crowns on endodontically treated teeth. In Canada, such evaluation is complicated by the fact that publicly funded health insurance plans do not have control over the care provider's choice of the crown type, and by the fact that there can be one fee code designated for all types of porcelain crowns, such as within the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services. The objective of this review is to evaluate the clinical and cost-effectiveness of dental crows for vital teeth and the use of post-core-crown restorations for endodontically treated teeth." The ADA practical guide to soft tissue oral disease / by M.A. Kahn and J.M. Hall
John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2014
"This textbook is intended to be a practical guide and reference source for the basic clinical aspects of soft tissue oral and maxillofacial disease. It is not intended to be an all-encompassing tone of oral pathology but rather to include those aspects of this dental specialty that are its most important foundational information and the most frequently encountered orofacial soft tissue diseases. The book is intended for health-care practitioners whose occupation involves encountering a variety of conditions and diseases of the oral cavity and its contiguous anatomic structures; it is not intended to be a reference source for oral medicine (i.e., details of the medical aspects of a particular disease within the oral cavity)."
